Necro- blazer blood

"ok so I like so pwned you there", said Eric leaning to his right controller in hand.  
"deals, who cares.  Race not over yet". Responded Kaleb.   Both boys were ps3ing, and for now Eric was in the lead.  Kaleb had pulled out the old gran torismo, a trip down memory lane.  
"kkaayyyyyllleeeebbbbbbb".  Yelled kalebs mother.
Both boys jumped despite having headphones on.  
"dude", said Eric taking off his phones.  "I thought asians were quiet and timid".
"I'm japanease, we scream high pitch.  Screw timid".
       Both boys headed downstairs knowing full well how and why they were in trouble.  
"your skipping classes again for that damn box",  said kalebs mom.  For an Asian lady living in the city for only 20 years, she carried no accent.  She was rather small as well, and didn't do to good with non-Asians........... Which doesn't work with Eric being dead white with dirty blonde hair.  Kaleb chuckled with the irony of Erics shirt and the situation.  He was wearing a dark blue t, with the word otaku written on it with an arrow pointing up.  Classic.
     They got rheemed as to how school was important, education is where the future is, how jello was made by nobodies who go no where in life.
"I like jello", commented Eric.  Kalebs mom didn't find it as funny.  So both boys got yelled at, told to head to school.  They both did what they always did though, take advantage of her severe near sightedness and sheer pride.  To proud to wear her glasses, she peered over the steps into kalebs room totally not seeing the boys peeking over top the bean bags they were sitting behind.  She then got ready, and jumped into her carpool to work.  The boys waited till they were sure she was gone. 
      The rest of the day disappeared within minutes due to the games, and with it being Friday they had no bedtime to worry about.  The weekend went just as quick, soon it was Monday again.  Can't skip today.  
        School went as usual, Eric ended up covered in pudding due to the football team.  Kaleb ran from every other student thinking he was easy pickings.  In all the day was rough for the boys, and like always no teacher would help them.  They seemed unusually vicious today, no doubt Alexis was behind it all.  Alexis, ah yes kalebs dear sweet and popular sister, a hot blonde Asian.  She was the cause of all of kalebs troubles, she even tried to have him killed cause he one uped her for an entire week.  Odds are she was miffed about the boys for some stupid reason.  But human compassion always seemed to be their friend.  The quarterback and coaches son (who is also on the team, runningback) went out of their way and tended to be nice to the boys, even so far as scolding the rest of the team for their actions.  
     The end of lunch.  The boys were heading to class when they were stopped by Atlas and Sheen, quarterback and friend.  
"yeah I know". Said Atlas.  "their asses, but they'll be bringing the championship home so I deal.  Anyway, my uncles makes games".  He handed two games to the boys, one a snes and the other ps3.  Both boys looked at each other first then the games then the jocks.  "I don't play and I know you guys do".  They took the games and Atlas continued.  "they worked on the old one there a few years back, but it was to mature for anyone back then.  Then like 2 years back they got the okay to remake it.  Anyway we got to go".  He waved at them as he left, sheen followed.  Both games had the same name as they looked them over.  Zompoc.  It was a zombie shoot em up.
"well I know what I'm doing after school", said Eric.  
         A 20 minute cab ride later they were at kalebs house, setting up the old snes.  They didn't care if the game would suck, all they cared about was that they were gonna play a game no one else had ever played before.  Awesome.  They decided on the snes one first, start with a classic.  Eric read the back of the games while Kaleb set it up.
"huh", said Eric rather upbeat.  "Both games have 22 levels, but get this".  He handed the games over.  "only a final boss, no other bosses, just zombies everywhere.  Weird".  
         It didn't stop them from playing though, in fact it turned out to be a really really good game.......... Really.  It was a side scroller, like all shooting games from then.  Despite the graphics it was pretty creepy.  It started off in a city and it let you explore freely, but the city was huge.  The boys had a beef though, it was a pure two player game.  No CPU controlled character.  You also had to reload your gun, Always hitting select to do it.  It didn't have a counter for anything, life, ammo, nothing.  They relied on memory for the ammo and figured out that when the dead hit you, all you had to do was wait until you were okay.  Besides all that it was still a great game way ahead of it's time.  They played well into the night, just reaching level 18 by 5am.  They passed out quickly while still in their beanbag chairs. 
       They awoke in the afternoon, groggy but started playing right away. They finished the game by late afternoon, bathroom breaks and all.  They didn't wait for the credits before popping in the other game.  They talked about how weird the game was and how the ending, as good as it was, left them wondering.  Why did the badguys win?  The dead killed almost everyone but the chosen few.  Not only that they didn't rise on their own.  The main badguys did it, a small group all wearing black cloaks.  They couldn't read the name that was typed but their symbol looked pretty good.  Kaleb decided he needed to use the bathroom again.
"dude brb", he spelled out.  He passed his sisters room and stopped to see what she was doing. Like always she was planning out the wardrobe for the next day, the only thing she had left to chose was what colour eyes she should have.  Blue, lightly dark blue, light blue, lighter blue and on and on for ten pairs of blue contacts.  A blue eyed blonde Asian girl, any wonder why she was so popular.  
      Kaleb got back and was surprised to see that the ps3 game supported one player.  He was kinda annoied that Eric started playing without him, but he would have done the same.  Kaleb watched for a bit before he excitedly noticed something.  Making Eric go into first person mode he had him look around.  There on the wall clear as day was the symbol he so wanted to see.  Erics character jumped onto a box to get a straight on view as Kaleb grabbed his camera.  With a quick photo and upload, he now had it ready for print.  He took a good look at it first though.  It was a cross between a biohazard symbol and a pentigram.  Photoshopping it he changed the colours to red.  He then printed, cut out certain pieces and replaced it with coloured see through plastic.  He then taped it to his window to admire.  That being done he started playing the game.
        Hours went by quickly, and they were lost in the game.  They were only 10 levels in, but the game seemed different.  In the other game they saw the main badguys right from the start, and all the dead looked alike.  In this one however they only caught glimpses every now and again.  Every dead that they killed all had different faces.  Weird.  
"the last one looked like your gardener", said Eric chukling at the randomness of it all.
Kaleb started to smile before something grabbed his attention.  A dead running around in the back kept looking way to familar, but it was to fast to get a good look.  But still he played on.  Alexis made an appearence to complain on how games made people dump an stupis........ That's actually what she said.  The boys acted to stupid, er I mean stupis, as if not doing the understanding of flappy lip girls mouth.  They laughed as she stormed off, straight out the front door.  
"what a douche", said Eric
"that's my bitchy sist........".  Kaleb stopped in mid word, shocked by what was on the screen.  It was a dead in the middle of her attack, her mouth was wide open and her arms were reaching out to Erics character.  When paused the game goes into first person view so they had a good look at her.  Kaleb was shocked and frozen wide eyed.  Confused Eric asked what was up?  
"shoulder lenth", said Kaleb
"her hair yeah"
"it's black"
"and"
"and with those differences........... It's still Alexis".  Erics head snapped back to the screen, sure enough it was Alexis.  Confused both boys looked at each other.  The scream freaked them out and they quickly tried to pause the game again.
"dude", said Eric.
"what"? Snapped Kaleb.  Eric just pointed and it took a while before Kaleb looked at Eric saying a rather annoyed "WHAT"?  He followed the point to the tv screen.  Alexis hadn't moved, the game was paused in the same place.  "I just paused it didn't I"?
"you can't, I was the one who paused it on that image and dude I didn't unpause it".  
"so"?
"only my controller can unpause it".
A second set of yells had them looking at the window.
"don't suppose someone else is playing the same only copy"?  Asked Kaleb.
"with surround sound".  Eric looked at the screen again, then turned off the ps3.  "enough for today"?
After s bit of a pause Kaleb responded "yeah", then turned off the tv.  Both boys sat in the dark save for a bright red bio-gram from kalebs printout that highlighted his wall.
