Not Quite. Chapter 1 Part 6

Hey guys. I wrote this to make it safe for my characters since I'm leaving for nine months. See, here's my story. I dropped out of high school this las October. Knowing I still needed my Diploma I applied to Job Corp. I got accepted, and my intake is one week from today [3/22/2011] So I'll have to continue the story near christmas. I'll still write, so you better be ready to read when I come back. I'm gonna post everything I'll have, So, without further delay, here's Not Quite, Part 6 of chapter 1. The End Of Chapter One.

I began to feel my eyelids getting heavy. "Jinx, look out!" I’d closed my eyes when Angela yelled. "Whah, What?!" I snapped back to reality. "That APC…" She said. That’s when I saw it. The two sixteen wheeled armored personnel carriers blocking the road. "They just moved into that position." I stopped the humvee and grabbed my mp5. I began preparing for a fire fight, checking my pistol. "Angela, get down behind the engine block." I opened my door and slipped out behind the door. I trained my laser sights on the opening hatch of the first APC. "Human Friendlies!" Someone yelled from inside. A tac team swarmed out training about twenty .223 military issue rifles at my head. I lowered my mp5. This didn’t look good.

They approached the humvee and found Angela under the dash as they cuffed me. "Is she bit?" One of them asked the other through a voice changer. The other replied, "No, why were you hiding?" "Because I told her too." I said before she could reply. "Why?" The obvious CO asked as he approached. "In-case this…" I motioned around me. "… Went south." I finished. He unlocked my cuffs. "Well ‘this’ is a rescue convoy. The entire west coast is a quarantine zone. We’re moving this convoy south towards a remote part of Cuba. Fall in behind the second APC." He walked him and his team back to the APC. The soldier who’d confiscated my smg handed it back.

After we fell in behind the APC we drove for a couple states before we came to a muddy area that neither ours, nor the main convoy of humvees could make it. "Angela, grab your gun and the two duffels, we’ll have to join the APC." I said as I slid out of the driver seat. Muddying my boots. Angela was right behind me in no time.

When we entered the APC we were ushered to sit in a couple of seats near the front. After we strapped in we began moving. I fell asleep as the adrenaline wore off from our first encounter with this vonvoy.

"Jinx. Jinx, wake up!" Angela once again punched me in my shoulder. "What?" I asked groggily knowing we were safe inside the APC. "We’re on a ferry." We were almost to the Island.

When we arrived on the Island the forty or so tac officers cleared all the buildings and helped Angela and I set up a small apartment area. We were safe. We could relax. We’d finally found our way to a now official safe zone.

We thought it was over. But (You guessed it) Not Quite.

I accidentally lied!

I didn't think I'd have access here. So be ready, new chapter starting soon. Set one month after this ended.

hmmm?

So I have a question... what happen to Talc? You didn't say anything about him in this one. Hmmm anyways great story so far. I'll be watching for more of it.

You're right

I kinda forgot about him, let's just say, he died in the gated town where they stopped after the ranch, and he died a terrible, gruesome death. for which was so unspeakably horrific. I didn't want to tell you. ;)
