Lately, I've been reading a lot of horror novels by Stephen King, is there and other great master of horror out there worth reading? Tell me your favorite horror books out there.

Firefly Rain by Richard Dansky was a pretty good story. The author usually does stuff for games, but this was a good first outing in books for him. It's a great ghost story.

Here are some horror authors you should definitely check out in no particular order:
Richard Matheson
Joe Hill (Stephen King's son, different than King but really damn good!)
Bentley Little
Peter Straub
Harlan Ellison
Whitley Strieber (his older non-ufo stuff, although that stuff scared the crap out of me when I was a kid too)
Scott Nicholson
J.T. Warren
Ray Garton
Christopher Golden
Poppy Z. Brite
Chuck Palahniuk
Brian Keene
Michael Marshall Smith
Sarah Langan (She has been been compared to King a lot!)
David Wellington (He has free serial novels on his website)
Rhodi Hawk
(Oh and my first novel, a horror/dark fantasy novel called Shining in Crimson comes out soon and I have two chapters of it here on Horror School or you can listen to my super dark audio renditions on my blog ;)
Don't be surprised if I come back and add more to this list... there are so many good horror authors out there that most people don't know about!
